A: Suet for birds is made from rendered animal fat. Gross, right? But, did you know that fat plays a huge role in wild birds' diets? It's true. Along with protein and carbohydrates, fat is a major source of energy. Fat is a concentrated form of energy and provides the birds a much needed boost to keep going. Birds use their energy extremely fast and the fat in suet helps them maintain good, strong energy levels.
Q: Do you sell NePo Suet in a store near me?
A: Maybe! There are some stores that carry NePo Suet and there are getting to be more every day! Right now, only a few stores in Portland, OR sell NePo Suet. Q: Aren't you only supposed to put suet out in the winter?A: Not at all! Many people, all around the country, put suet out year-round, and they are rewarded with more birds and more species. Again, it's a great source of energy for the birds and they need all they can get in Winter, Spring, Fall, and even Summer. There are migratory birds that pass through North America during different seasons that will be attracted to suet out all year long.
Q: Why is your suet more expensive than other brands at my local store? A: To answer that question, let me first say that the quality of suet we make is far above that that you can purchase at your local market. Ingredients, quality control, consistency, ease of use, freshness and customer service all set NePo Suet apart from the competition. Also, there are many other "specialty" suet cakes on the market that cost far more than NePo Suet, but don't produce the same results. We truly believe that once you offer NePo Suet in your backyard, you will see the value!
Q: Do you accept credit cards? A: Yes! We accept all major credit/debit cards through PayPal or by phone. You don't even need a PayPal account in order to use their service.
Q: How long will it take to get my order? A: As soon as you order any blend of NePo Suet, we start cooking! We usually ship the same day the order is placed and we use Priority Mail through the USPS. It usually takes 2-3 days from the time you order, to receive your NePo Suet.
Q: What if birds don't eat the suet? A: Great question! If you are using a new feeder or a new location of a feeder try moving it to a different location. Sometimes it may take a few days for bird to find a new feeder. If, for any reason, your backyard birds don't enjoy NePo Suet, just simply contact us and we will refund your purchase price. We are confident that, if you put NePo Suet in your yard, birds will come!
Q: Why do you put oyster shells in your suet? A: We add ground oyster shells to our suet to help aid in the digestion of food for the birds. Since birds have no teeth in which to chew, adding grit is a great way to give them a little help with grinding up their food as they eat!
